No. 4 Michigan State Spartans vs. No. 12 Harvard Crimson Betting Preview

When: Saturday, March 22

Where: Spokane Arena, Spokane, WA

Line: No. 12 Harvard Crimson (+7) at Michigan State Spartans (-7); total 137.0

Betting on the Michigan State Spartans

Michigan State is looking like the title contender President Obama believes it is. After steamrolling to the Big Ten tournament title, the Spartans began their NCAA tournament by thoroughly dominating Delaware for a comfortable 93-78 victory.

Back healthy after an injury-riddled season, senior Adreian Payne exploded with a school tournament record 41 points to lead the Spartans. He shot 10-15 from the field and a tournament record 17-17 from the line. Payne is averaging over 25 points in his last three games.

The Spartans are now 4-0 SU and ATS over their last four games, with a 13-point average margin of victory.

Betting on the Harvard Crimson

Harvard’s done it again. For the second year in a row, the Ivy League champs have reached the Round of 32, after taking down No.5 Cincinnati. Last year, it was No. 3 New Mexico.

The Crimson ground out a 61-57 victory over the Bearcats despite shooting just 6-17 from three-point range and 17-28 from the free throw line. Junior Wesley Saunders led the team with 12 points and four others scored at least nine points in a balanced Harvard attack. Their defense also held an anemic Cincy offense to just 37% shooting.

The victory extends Harvard’s winning streak to nine straight games. The Crimson are 7-2 ATS during that time.

Prediction

Undersized Harvard has no one remotely capable of handling an in-form Payne inside, which is why the Spartans will cover and march on to the Sweet 16 with ease.
