TV Broadcast: truTV

Betting on the Northwestern Wildcats (ODDS)

Record: 21-11 Overall/12-8 Conference

Northwestern had a pretty rough ending to its regular-season schedule, losing three of four games prior to the Big Ten tournament, where the Wildcats lost right away to the Penn State Nittany Lions last Friday, 67-65. But despite their recent struggles, the Wildcats deserve so much respect and just can’t be ignored. The Wildcats have seven Quadrant 1 wins, which include victories against the likes of the Purdue Boilermakers, Indiana Hoosiers, Michigan State Spartans, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Their defense is one of the stoutest in the nation as well, with the Wildcats allowing only 62.5 points per game and recording 4.6 steals per game, 16th and sixth overall, respectively.

Northwestern is 7-3 against the spread in its last 10 games.

Betting on the Boise State Broncos (ODDS)

Record: 24-9 Overall/13-5 Conference

The Broncos are coming off a 72-62 loss in the MWC tournament at the hands of the Utah State Aggies. However, it was not that long ago when Boise State took down the San Diego State Aztecs at home on Feb. 28, 66-60. That matters because San Diego State is the best team in the MWC and it also showed that the Broncos can hang with an elite opponent. Like Northwestern, Boise State’s strength lies in its defense, one that is ranked 14th with just 93.8 points allowed per 100 possessions adjusted. Offensively, the Broncos have five players averaging at least 10 points per game, led by forward Tyson Degenhart, who is putting up over 14 points per outing on a 69.8 TS%.

The Over is 5-4-1 in Boise State’s 10 games.

Writer’s Prediction

Northwestern wins, 66-64.
