Betting on the Oakland Raiders (2-1 Preseason Record)

It was a low-scoring affair, but at least, for the Raiders, they came out on top in last week’s 13-6 victory over the Green Bay Packers at home. Derek Carr barely played, but he offered a preview of what’s to come in the preseason when he threw a 49-yard pass to wide receiver Amari Cooper. Carr won’t be there in the finale, though, as the Raiders would rather rest their franchise quarterback than risk him to injury. Oakland is largely feeding off its backfield on offense. Against the Packers, the Raiders rushed 31 times for 127 yards and a touchdown. Entering the last season of the preseason, Oakland is third in the league this August in rushing yards per game with a 129.3 average.

The under is 3-1 in the Raiders’ last four road games in the preseason.

Betting on the Seattle Seahawks (0-3 Preseason Record)

The Seahawks failed once again to notch a victory in the preseason, as they fell short in last week’s 21-20 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings on the road. Now, the Seahawks return home looking to break their skid in front of their home crowd.  Despite their loss to Minnesota, the Seahawks shined in other areas, such as on the pass rush, as they nailed the Vikings quarterback a total of four times for a loss of 33 yards. Running back Chris Carson only had 29 rushing yards n seven carries, but scored a touchdown to add to his case to be the Seahawks’ starting running back when the regular season rolls around. It’s unclear whether Seattle will play Carson this Thursday, but if not, C.J. Prosise will likely see majority of the snaps in the backfield.

The Seahawks are 3-1 SU and 3-1 ATS in their last four preseason games at home.

Writer’s Prediction

Seattle wins, 19-13.
