Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes (-13.0 Spread / 2-0 Overall Record)
The Buckeyes have walloped their first two opponents of the season. In their season debut, they scored a 77-31 win over Oregon State before punching Rutgers in the mouth with a one-sided 52-3 victory last week. Through the first two weeks of the season, Ohio State is currently the best scoring team in the nation with a ridiculous 64.5 points per game.. The Buckeyes are not going to meet that average against a ranked TCU team, but they are going to be handful. Against the Scarlett Knights, Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins had an efficient game, passing for 233 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions on 20-of-23 completions. On the season, Haskins has five passing touchdowns. Running back Tate Martell, meanwhile, rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on eight carries against Rutgers.
The Buckeyes are 4-0 ATS in their last four games.
Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs (+13.0 Spread / 2-0 Overall Record)
Like the Buckeyes, TCU has been destroyed its last two opponents. The Horned Frogs kicked off the season with a 55-7 win over Southern then trounced SMU on the road last week, 42-12. They weren’t able to cover the huge 50-point spread in the Southern game but easily beat the 23.5 point spread as the favorites against the Mustangs. Key to the Horned Frogs’ success thus far in the season is their high-octane backfield that is averaging 247.0 rushing yards per game, good for 25th best in the nation. TCU is determined to run the ball, as evidenced by its 60.0 rushing play percentage through the team’s first two games. It’s hard to predict how well TCU’s defense will stand against Ohio State’s punishing offense, as the Horned Frogs have not faced even a top-20 attack this season, though, they are allowing just 12.0 points per game.
TCU is 2-2 ATS in its last four games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
Ohio State wins, 35-28.
