Betting on the Oklahoma City Thunder

Russell Westbrook saw his triple-double streak snapped at seven games versus Boston Sunday night, but he’s definitely more than okay with it since the Thunder found themselves on the right side of the final score, 99-96.

The five-time All-Star point guard scored 23 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out six assists, while also managing to finally regain his stroke: 14-of-26 shooting. OKC has now won seven of its last eight games, with the lone loss coming against a visiting Rockets team that beat them by just three points.

Westbrook won’t have his backcourt buddy—Victor Oladipo—running alongside him tonight, however. Oladipo left with a wrist injury during the game with the Celtics. And that said, there’s more pressure on Westbrook to single-handedly carry the Thunder past to a victory, this time at Portland.

Oklahoma City is 5-4 SU (4-5 ATS) on the road this season.

Betting on the Portland Trail Blazers

Portland was a steal away from potentially beating the Clippers on Monday night, but LA managed to hang on, 121-120, and sent the Trail Blazers to their fourth-straight loss (1-3 ATS).

A trip back home to Oregon for their first regular-season meeting with the Thunder could be what Portland needs to jump back into the win column. The Trail Blazers have won six of their last eight games (3-5 ATS) at the Moda Center.

Moreover, both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are usually red-hot when playing in front of their fan base, averaging 29.5 and 22.5 points, respectively, through 11 home games this season. The two hot-shooting guards will also be looking to build on or sustain their valiant efforts in the tough loss to the Clips.

Lillard finished with 24 points and eight dimes, while McCollum went 9-of-17 from the field for a team-high 25 points, marking his fifth-consecutive game with 23 or more points.

Rip City has beaten OKC in the last three meetings (1-2 ATS).

Writer’s Prediction

Portland gets back on track, 116-111, barely surviving a Michael Jordan-esque performance from Westbrook.
