The Thunder are coming off a bad 108-105 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers at home on Sunday, which was made worse by the atrocious three-point shooting of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. George finished  with 16 points but went 0-for-7 from behind the arc. Anthony had a more forgettable night with six points and with none of his five three-point attempts going in. Then again, OKC has shown in the past that they could win games despite their subpar three-point accuracy. Take for example their 104-94 win over San Antonio on Mar. 10, when Melo and PG13 hit only one three-ball on 11 attempts. Winning the rebounding battle and letting Russell Westbrook lead them seems to be key in defeating the Spurs again. The Thunder outrebounded San Antonio in the aforementioned game, 49-43, while Russell Westbrook stitched a triple-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Somehow, the Spurs have found their footing again despite a number of injuries on their roster. They are back in the playoff picture in the Western Conference standings after getting thrown out of it for a little bit. A big part of San Antonio’s mild resurgence is the play of LaMarcus Aldridge. The big man has averaged 35.5 points and has shot 60.3 percent over his last five games as of this writing. That said, he needs his teammates to step up as gas may be becoming a bigger issue for him with all the work he’s been putting up of late. Hopefully for the Spurs, it’s this recent version of Aldridge who will show up this Thursday. Aldridge scored just 11 points in the loss to OKC earlier this month. San Antonio is 7-3 SU and 5-5 ATS in its last 10 home games against the Thunder.

Writer’s Prediction:

San Antonio trips up OKC with a 103-101 win.
