Oklahoma State Cowboys vs TCU Horned Frogs Predictions, Picks, Odds, and NCAA Basketball Betting Preview – March 13 2019

The Oklahoma State Cowboys (+200,000 to win the national title) know that they can’t trust the Selection Committee with regards to their fate this March, so they will have to fight tooth and nail with the TCU Horned Frogs (+30,000), who also probably needs a win or two in the tournament to get the nod this coming Selection Sunday.

Betting on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (12-19 Overall / 5-13 Conference)

The Cowboys have gathered some momentum heading into the conference tournament, as they have collected two straight wins against the Baylor Bears on the road (67-64) and versus the West Virginia Mountaineers at home (85-77). Oklahoma State’s offense has picked up of late. The Cowboys are averaging just 68.0 points per game on the season, but has pounded out 73.0 over their last three outings. That’s skewed by their 85-point performance against West Virginia, though, in which the Cowboys shot 50.0 percent from the field and went 11-for-24 from deep. Speaking of which, the long ball has been a huge weapon for Oklahoma State this season. It is tops in the conference with 261 3-pointers made and second with a 36.7 percent accuracy from distance. In their 68-61 home win over TCU in Stillwater last month, the Cowboys also drained 11 3-pointers, while also playing tenacious defense that forced the Horned Frogs to commit 14 turnovers.

The Cowboys are 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last six games against the Horned Frogs.

Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs (19-12 Overall / 7-11 Conference)

After suffering three-straight losses late in Big 12 play, the Horned Frogs made sure they would win their regular-season finale, as they took down the Texas Longhorns in Austin on Mar. 9, 69-56. Unlike the Cowboys, the Horned Frogs’ offense has trended negatively in their last few games. TCU is averaging 74.5 points per game this season, but its scoring production has dipped to just 62.3 over its last three outings.  The good thing about the Horned Frogs is that they seem to have recovered after making 54.0 percent of their shots in the Texas game and went 9-for-17 on their 3-point attempts. The Horned Frogs’ offense rely mostly on their ability to get the ball to the open man. They are 18th in the nation with 16.3 dimes per contest, which explains why they lost in Stillwater after having just eight assists. In their 70-68 home win over the Cowboys early last February, the Horned Frogs had 14 assists and beat Oklahoma State in its own game by knocking down six more 3-pointers, 11-5. It’s also worth noting that TCU had a total of 12 blocks in the last two meetings with Oklahoma State.

TCU is 3-1 straight up (SU) and 2-2 ATS in its last four games against the Cowboys.

Writer’s Prediction

TCU wins, 73-68.
