Betting on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (+4.5)
No. 13 Oklahoma State is in control of their destiny. It has two games remaining, both of which are must-wins in order to claim the Big 12 title and potentially a spot in the postseason.
With that said, expect the intensity in this Saturday’s showdown with the Horned Frogs to be high. The Cowboys are coming off a pair of narrow victories, winning by just seven points combined versus Kansas State and Texas Tech.
Against the Red Raiders, Mike Gundy’s boys were saved by a missed field goal that would have sent the game into an extra session. Nonetheless, they’ll take the win—their sixth-straight—and continue leaning on quarterback Mason Rudolph, who’s thrown 18 touchdowns in the past six games, to lead the offense.
The Cowboys have scored in bunches this season, racking up 41.3 points per game. Most of their firepower has come from the dynamic receiving-pair of James Washington and Jalen McCleskey, who both lead the team in receiving yards with 1,132 and 720, respectively. The two also have 16 TDs combined.
Oklahoma State is 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS in its last five road games.
Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs (-4.5)
TCU, meanwhile, is seeking bowl-eligibility with a big win this weekend. In terms of offensive consistency, this team is at a slight disadvantage in comparison to the Cowboys. However, the Horned Frogs are coming off an impressive win earlier this month at Waco, where in they blew out Baylor, 62-22.
Running back Kyle Hicks inflicted most of the damage in that game, amassing a career-high 192 yards to go along with his five touchdowns. He’s the main reason why the offense is averaging almost 200 rushing yards per game this season, among the most in the Big 12.
The Horned Frogs can also kill opponents through the air. They have a number of receivers who are quick, crafty and can make game-changing plays down the stretch. For one, there’s Taj Williams, who carries a team-high of 643 receiving yards and five scores, and sophomore KaVontae Turpin, who seems to have regained his full form after missing out four games due to a left knee injury.
TCU is 2-3 SU and 0-5 ATS in its last five home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Oklahoma State (+4.5) wins a thriller, 33-30.
