FAVORITES
Dustin Johnson (+800)
Johnson did not participate in any of the last two PGA Tour events, skipping the Charles Schwab Challenge and the Memorial Tournament. But now that he’s part of the field in the upcoming Palmetto Championship, you bet that he’s going to be one of the top golfers to watch out for. That’s despite the fact that he missed the cut in the 2021 PGA Championship after scoring 76 and 74 in the first and second round, respectively. On the season, DJ has made the cut 10 times in 12 starts and has six top 25s and four top 10s, including a recent T13 in the RBC Heritage.
Brooks Koepka (+800)
Koepka has momentum going into the 2021 Palmetto Championship, having just finished with a T2 in the 2021 PGA Championship with a four-under 284 at the end of the event. That was also a nice way for him to rebound after suffering back-to-back missed cuts in the Masters Tournament and in the AT&T Byron Nelson.
Tyrrell Hatton (+1400)
Hatton is now 5 of 5 in his last five starts after a T38 in the 2021 PGA Championship. Prior to that, he had a T8 in the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Ranked 10th in the world, Hatton will look to snag his first win of the season this week at Congaree Golf Club. He has three top 10s so far this season, with his best finish being a T3 in THE CJ CUP @ SHADOW CREEK back in October 2020.
HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS
Charley Hoffman (odds)
Hoffman should be on your sleepers list. Here is a player who has made the cut 10 straight times after a T3 in the 2021 Charles Schwab Challenge. With that momentum behind him, you can expect him to put up another strong performance this week down at Congaree Golf Club.
Ian Poulter (+4000)
Speaking of momentum, Poulter is another golfer riding on a wave as he travels to Congaree Golf Club in South Carolina. He had a T3 in his most recent start in the 2021 Charles Schwab Challenge, firing a 64 and 68 in the third and fourth round, respectively.
LONG SHOTS
Doc Redman (+6600)
Redman finished with a T42 in the 2021 Memorial Tournament, extending his streak of made cuts to three starts after missing the cut in the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship. He has three top 10s on the season, as he had a T3 in the Safeway Open back in September 2020, a T4 at the Bermuda Championship in November 2020, and a T9 at the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson just last month.
Adam Schenk (+15000)
Schenk is 5 of 6 in his last six starts and over that stretch, he had a T112 in the 2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans and a T18 in the 2021 Valspar Championship.
Writer’s Prediction
Brooks Koepka wins the 2021 Palmetto Championship.
