Jason Sobel | Bryson DeChambeau |
Jason Sobel of the Action Network doesn’t want to complicate his choice for his favorite to win the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic, and that’s the defending champion, DeChambeau. Ranked sixth in the world, DeChambeau won the 2020 edition of this tournament with a score of 23-under 265, scoring no higher than 67 in each of the four rounds. DeChambeau, who is +750 to win this weekend, also has a pair of wins and six top 10s in 16 starts, so far this season.

CBS Sports Staff | Matthew Wolff |
Wolff is pegged with +3300 odds to win the 2021 Mortgage Classic at TopBet sportsbook but for DFS pro Mike McClure, the 22-year-old native of Agoura Hills, California could make waves this week at Detroit Golf Club. Wolff has been cut in two of his last three starts, which could explain why not a lot of bettors might not be looking at his direction right now, but they should also know that he was the runner-up in this tournament in 2020. He scored no more than 69 in each of the first three rounds but stumbled in the fourth with a 71.

Rob Bolton | Bryson DeChambeau |
Here’s what Rob Bolton said about DeChambeau, who is the top player on his power rankings for the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic:
“All variables considered since he prevailed in his historic debut a year ago, his body mass has changed the most. It hasn’t impeded his progress and he’s taking the same test again.”

Ryan Simpson, News Editor | Justin Thomas |
In his preview of the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic, TopBet News Editor Ryan Simpson revealed that he is picking Patrick Reed (+1400) to win the tournament. Here’s what Simpson had to say about Reed:
“Reed has gone 3 of 3 in his last 3 PGA TOUR starts, which includes a solo fifth-place finish in 2021 the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide back in early June. He missed the cut in the last edition of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, but a year prior, in 2019, he was fifth with a 17-under 271 score. On the season, Reed has six top 10s and 13 top 25s in 18 starts. He has a win as well, having topped the field in the 2021 Farmers Insurance back in January. Reed is currently ninth in scoring average (69.9).”
