FAVORITES
Shane Lowry (+1600)
Lowry returns to action for the first time since a T21 at 2022 The Open Championship. He is 3 of 4 in his last four starts and while he has yet to win a tournament so far this season, he’s got a total of four top 10s and nine top 25s overall. Plus, he has missed just three cuts in 15 starts. There was also a stretch back in April where Lowry had a streak of three consecutive T3s.
Sungjae Im (+1600)
Im also did not play in last week’s edition of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, but he must still have some momentum after a T2 at the 2022 3M Open. After missing the cuts in back-to-back fashion at the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open and at 2022 The Open Championship, Im has gone 2 of 2 in two starts since flying back to US soil. It should also be highlighted here that Im has a pair of top 10s in three career starts at Sedgefield Country Club.
Will Zalatoris (+1800)
Career win no. 1 remains elusive for the 25-year-old Zalatoris, but that shouldn’t last long, considering how he’s been performing out there. Zalatoris, who finished with a T20 at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic, is 16 of 21 this season with eight top 10s and a trio of runner-up finishes, which include his solo-second place at the 2022 PGA Championship and a T2 at the 2022 US Open.
HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS
Kevin Kisner (+3300)
Here’s what we said about Kisner in our 2022 Wyndham Championship sleepers piece:
Ranked 28th in the world, Kisner is looking for his first win of the season still and is hoping he could recover right away from a missed cut at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic last week. Chances are he will make the cut this week at Sedgefield Country Club, considering that he is a perfect 7 of 7 in his career there, and also is, in fact, the defending champion of this event, having topped the field in 2021 with a 15-under 265 score.
Taylor Pendrith (+3300)
Here’s what we said about Pendrith in our 2022 Wyndham Championship sleepers piece:
Pendrith is in the middle of a nice stretch. After finishing with a T2 last week at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic with a 15-under-267, Pendrith has managed to extend his streak of made cuts to six starts. He has also cracked the top 15 in all of his last four starts. Overall this season, Pendrith has seven top 25s and a couple of top 10s on 13 of 18 made cuts. Moreover, Pendrith is having plenty of success finding the greens, as evidenced by his 70.62 greens in regulation percentage.
LONG SHOTS
James Hahn (+15000)
Hahn had a T4 at the 2022 3M Open but followed that up with a missed cut at the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic. He is now just 11 of 24 so far this season, though he also has three top 10s.
Nick Taylor (+15000)
Ranked just 257th in the world, Taylor has made the cut just once in his last five starts and is 0 of 2 in his last two. He has yet to crack the top 10 in a tournament so far this season, but has two career wins in the PGA TOUR to brag about.
Writer’s Prediction
Will Zalatoris wins the 2022 Wyndham Championship.
