Watson is still chasing for his first win of the season, and that could come at TPC Louisiana, where he’s won the Zurich Classic in 2011 — back when the format was not yet team-oriented. Watson has three top 10s in 28 appearances at TPC Louisiana. Sobel also pointed out the perception that Watson does seem to play better with a teammate than he’s on his own. As for Scheffler, he has three top 10s in 16 starts this season.

The tandem of Todd and Kirk has odds of +1800 to win the 2021 Zurich Classic in New Orleans, and for the staff of CBS Sports, this pair could be the surprise of the tournament. They mentioned the “chemistry” of Todd and Kirk as a key to success this week. It’s hard to argue about their familiarity with each other, as Todd and Kirk have been friends for over 15 years and were former roommates in Georgia.

Rob Bolton of PGA’s official website ranked some of the pairings and put Rahm and Palmer on top, which is not much of a surprise, considering that the duo is the defending champions for this event, having won in 2019. That year, they edged the runner-ups (Tommy Fleetwood and Sergio Garcia) by three strokes. The two are also in form heading into TPC Lousiana. Rahm has gone back-to-back T5s in his last two starts, while Palmer has made the cut in all of his last 12 PGA TOUR starts (13 overall).
