Betting on the Philadelphia 76ers (odds)
Regular Season Record: 51-31
The Sixers unquestionably now have the momentum after back-to-back wins. Whats’ scary is that they might not even have hit their peak yet. “I don’t think we’ve played our best basketball,” said Sixers Joel Embiid after Game 4, wherein he posted 24 points to go with 11 rebounds. James Harden also produced a fantastic performance, playing like an MVP with 31 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. Danny Green, who sizzled with seven threes in Game 3, stayed hot, shooting 3/4 from behind the arc. With Harden and Embiid on the same page and their supporting cast doing its part, the Sixers are poised to grab the series lead for the first time. They didn’t have Embiid in the first two games, which were in Miami, and will now be back in South Beach with the team’s MVP ready to see action.
The Under is 6-4 in the Sixers’ last 10 road games overall.
Betting on the Miami Heat (odds)
Regular Season Record: 52-30
Despite a brilliant effort from Jimmy Butler, the Heat were not able to overcome the Sixers on the road in Game 4. Butler exploded for 40 points on 13/20 shooting. Thorugh four games in the second round, Butler has averaged 27.5 points on 52.1 percent shooting from the floor. He can continue making the Sixers work, but Miami also needs to find a way to contain Philly’s attack that fired on all cylinders in Game 4. Expect the Heat’s defense to tighten up a bit more at least in Game 5, with the series back in South Beach. So far in the playoffs, the Heat have the best scoring defense during home games, allowing just 97.0 points per game in this postseason when they’re at FTX Arena.
The Heat are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Heat win, 112-108.
