Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-2)

The Steelers offense looked to be clicking against the Packers, after a few weeks of inconsistency. Although he threw 2 interceptions Big Ben still had a good game, as he threw for over 350 yards and 4 scores. He has 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in the last 3 games, and should continue his hot play against the Bengals beat up secondary. Big Ben should throw for over 275 yards and a few scores in this game.

Le’Veon Bell is putting up great numbers this season, and the All-Pro running back didn’t disappoint against Green Bay. Bell ran the ball 20 times for 95 yards and also caught an amazing 12 passes for 88 yards. He is one of the best players in football and an MVP candidate this season, so similar numbers should be in store for him against the Cincy front seven. Look for him to find the end zone twice in this one.

Antonio Brown is the arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, and he has put up two straight excellent performances. After torching the Titans for 10 catches, 144 yards and 3 touchdowns, he followed it up with 10 catches for 169 yards and 2 scores against Green Bay.

When Brown is in the zone the way he is playing right now, there isn’t a corner in the league who can cover him. Pacman Jones should expect to have a long day, as I see Brown continuing this hot streak and finding the end zone for the third straight game. The Steelers defense struggled against Brett Hundley as the young QB threw for 3 touchdowns and didn’t have an interception. Facing Andy Dalton will be a slightly tougher challenge, but I expect the defense to put in a solid performance.

Betting on the vs Cincinnati Bengals (5-6)

Point Spread: (+6)

The Bengals have won 2 games in a row, but it is not because of the strong play of QB Andy Dalton. He has thrown for under 300 yards in the last 6 games, and in that span has 3 games under 200 yards. The offense does face a Pittsburgh secondary that allowed Brett Hundley to light them up for a handful of scores, but I don’t see Dalton snapping this 6 game streak. The last matchup saw Dalton throw for only 140 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

This game should have a similar outcome for the former TCU QB. AJ Green has struggled recently in the Cincy offense, and he has not put up a 100 yard receiving game in 5 of the last 6 contests. Going up a vulnerable Pittsburgh secondary would seem like an opportunity for Green to shine, but with Dalton’s struggles in the last meeting don’t count on Green to put up a good performance.

Rookie running back Joe Mixon has shown flashes of game breaking ability, but he has not been up consistent numbers this season as the feature back. He put up huge numbers against a poor Browns team, as he carried it 23 times for 114 yards and a score. He also chipped in 3 catches for 50 yards. Can Mixon help keep the Pittsburgh offense the field? If the Bengals can get him 20+ touches in this game they may have a good shot at the upset.

Writer’s Prediction

The Pittsburgh offense should continue to click on all cylinders and will win this game by 2 touchdowns. Big Ben should throw for a few TDs and help the Steelers get an easy victory. Pick: Pittsburgh (-6)
