Federer is 1-0 in his career against Dzumhur with the Swiss maestro beating the young upstart in the French Open last month. Federer destroyed Dzumhur in straight sets at Roland Garros, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
Federer’s return was impeccable in that match, winning 46% of his return points. Federer was all over Dzumhur’s serve in that third round clash with the 17-time Grand Slam winner converting six of his eight break point opportunities. Federer will need more of the same this coming Tuesday if he is to advance to the second round at Wimbledon for the 16th consecutive time.

Betting on Damir Dzumhur
Damir Dzumhur surprised plenty of pundits with his excellent play at the French Open last month. He became the first Bosnian player to feature in the third round at Roland Garros before his run was abruptly ended by the great Roger Federer. He will look to gain some revenge against his boyhood idol when he takes on Federer again, this time at the hallowed grounds of Wimbledon.
For Dzumhur to upset Federer this time around, he needs to improve greatly on his return play. He won just 33% of his receiving points in that match against Federer with Dzumhur converting just one of his five break point chances.
To make matters worse for Dzumhur, he also struggled with his serve in that contest against Federer. Even though he put into play 70% of his first serves in that third-round match, Dzumhur only won 56% of those points against the 17-time Grand Slam winner.
That simply isn’t good enough against a talented player such as Federer. Dzumhur needs to play a perfect game if he is to advance to the second round of Wimbledon for the very first time.
