A lot has changed since the Spurs lost to Golden State at home on Nov. 5, 112-92. For one, the Spurs reserves back then now fully embrace their larger roles and are more accustomed to playing bigger minutes with Kawhi Leonard out for the foreseeable future with a nagging lower-body injury. Kyle Anderson and David Bertans have been regulars in head coach Gregg Popovich’s rotation, while LaMarcus Aldridge continues to flourish as the team’s top offensive option. Aldridge leads the team with 22.4 points per game. He had 24 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Golden State. The Spurs beat the Warriors on the boards in the first meeting, wining the rebounding battle, 46-41. They need to cut down on their turnovers, though, as San Antonio had 19 in that game, which the Warriors turned into 23 points. The Spurs are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games in Oakland.

The deadly triumvirate of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson were dialed in during the Warriors’ November win against San Antonio. Durant scored 24 points, Curry had 21, while Thompson led both sides with 27 points. The Warriors’ outside shooting clicked versus the Spurs, as the defending champions went 14-of-28 from beyond the arc and 43-of-83 (51.8%) from the field overall. The Spurs have the best defense right now in the NBA with only 98.0 points allowed per game, but the Warriors have repeatedly shown that they are capable of mocking any kind of defenses thrown at them. Golden State tops the league with 115.6 points per game. The Warriors paces the entire league in field goal shooting percentage (50.9%), three-point percentage (39.2%) and field goals made per game (43.4). Making it hard to defend the Warriors is their selflessness. They are averaging 30.3 assists per game. They had 30 in the previous meeting with the Spurs. The Warriors are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings with San Antonio.

Writer’s Prediction:

Golden State wins, 111-105.
