Betting on the San Antonio Spurs (44-8)
The San Antonio Spurs extended their winning streak to five games with a resounding 119-101 victory over the Miami Heat on Tuesday night. LaMarcus Aldridge led the way for the Spurs, scoring 28 points and grabbing four rebounds. He has now scored at least 25 points in five of the last seven contests and is averaging 26.4 points while making 47-of-78 from the field over the past five games.
Key to the Spurs’ resurgence has been their incredible offense. The Spurs have scored over 105 points in each of their last five games. That sizzling offense was in full display Tuesday against the Heat where they shot a solid 52.8 percent from the field. San Antonio is fifth in the NBA in scoring, averaging 104.9 points per game this season.Next up for the surging Spurs is a clash with the Orlando Magic. Gregg Popovich’s men will fancy their chances against Orlando as they have fared extremely well against them of late. The Spurs have won their last nine meetings with the Magic, beating them by an average of 12.1 points during that span. San Antonio trounced Orlando, 107-92, in their first encounter this season.
The Spurs are 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last nine road games.

Betting on the Orlando Magic (23-28)
The Orlando Magic stretched their unbeaten run to two games with a thrilling 117-110 overtime victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. Six players scored in double-figures for the Magic who recorded their second win over the Hawks in two days. That’s a huge turnaround for the Magic who lost 15 of their previous 17 outings to start the calendar year.
Key to the Magic’s renaissance has been the excellent play of Nikola Vucevic. He hit the game-winning shot in Sunday’s win over the Hawks and averaged 25 points in the two games while draining 22-of-35 shots from the floor. Also stepping up for the Magic during this stretch is point guard Elfrid Payton. He averaged 16 points and 9.5 assists in Orlando’s last two victories.
Things are bound to get tougher, though, for the Magic as standing in their way in their next game are the red-hot San Antonio Spurs. The five-time NBA champions are first in the league in scoring defense, allowing just 91.7 points per game this season.
For the Magic to pull off the shock victory tonight, they will need to get a much better performance from Victor Oladipo. He struggled mightily against the Hawks on Monday, scoring just nine points on a woeful 3-of-12 shooting from the field. Oladipo was one of the few bright spots for Orlando in their loss to San Antonio earlier this month, recording 19 points, seven assists and five steals in a sterling all-around display.
The Magic are 4-6 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Spurs (-9) pummel the Magic, 113-95.
