The San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are both languishing at the bottom of their respective divisions, but at least one of them can come away with a win this weekend when they square off at Raymond James Stadium. The sportsbook favors Tampa Bay buy just over a field goal in this Week 12 meeting. The 49ers are +100,000 to win the NFC title, while the Bucs have the same odds to achieve that miracle.

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (2-8)
Don’t expect another change at the starting quarterback slot for the 49ers. San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan has already reiterated that, meaning it’s going to be Nick Mullens once again under center for the team when they take on the Bucs. Mullens tasted his first defeat as a starter in Week 10 against the New York Giants, before the team’s Week 11 bye, wherein he completed 27 of 39 pass attempts for 250 yards and a touchdown against two interceptions in a 27-23 loss. By and large, Mullens still performed well, so Shanahan’s trust in him isn’t unwarranted. One thing that the 49ers are doing well is protecting Mullens, as he has yet to be sacked this season. The 49ers’ success in keeping Mullens safe could continue against the Bucs, whose pass rush is middle of the road in the NFL.
The 49ers are 5-3 ATS in their last eight road games.
Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-7)
The quarterback situation in Tampa Bay is different than in San Francisco. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Bucs will revert back to Jameis Winston as their starting signal-caller this coming weekend after not having much success with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. Fitzpatrick started in last week’s 38-35 road loss to the Giants, but got pulled for Winston after throwing three interceptions without a touchdown on 13-of-21 completions. As for Winston, he went 12-of-16 for 199 passing yards and two touchdowns against an interception. Winston, however, will be without one key weapon, as the Bucs just put tight end O.J. Howard on the injured reserve due to foot and ankle injuries. Even without Howard, though, the Bucs can still deal heavy damage through the air, as they still have the likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and DeSean Jackson, while Cameron Brate is in line for a heavier workload going forward.
The under is 2-0 in the Bucs’ last two home games.
Writer’s Prediction
