Team Strengths
The Pirates had a great regular season, and were a rebound away from upsetting eventual champion Villanova in semifinals of the Big East tourney. They finished in a 4-way tie for third place in the conference standings, with their best wins coming against Creighton, Xavier and at Butler. They also got the W in the lone meeting with then-No. 16 South Carolina in December.
Their best player is arguably the 6-foot-10 Angel Delgado, who is posting 15.3 points and 13.1 rebounds, while making 54.8 percent of his shot attempts. He’s surrounded by a pair of deadly shooters/scorers in Khadeen Harrington (16.9 PPG) and Desi Rodriguez (15.9), making up the team’s strong inside-out game.
Seton Hall is priced at +20,000 to win it all.
Team Weaknesses
The Pirates have the size and physical strength to impose their will around the paint, mainly through the aforementioned Delgado. But playing in an up-tempo pace negates his effectiveness and the team’s true identity. Seton Hall also doesn’t have the luxury to spend too much energy with only seven players included in their regular rotation.
