Betting on the South Carolina Gamecocks 6-2 (+24.5)

The South Carolina Gamecocks are probably one of the worst 6-2 teams in the nation. Four of their six wins were one possession games. Basically, they are a couple of plays away from being an average team – which they are. Statistically, things aren’t any better. The Gamecocks rank 106th in total offense and defensively they are 57th in the nation.

If South Carolina is going to upset Georgia, they’ll need Jake Bentley to continue his solid play. He hasn’t thrown an interception in four straight games and that’s what the Gamecocks will need in this one and then some.

Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs 8-0 (-24.5)

The Georgia Bulldogs look poised to represent the east division in the SEC championship game next month. The Bulldogs have been impressive all season long and the thorough beating of the Gators last week was no different.

Nich Chubb got things rolling earlier and before you knew it the Bulldogs were up 21-0 after one quarter of play. It was such a beat down that Jake Fromm only had to throw the ball seven times. The Bulldogs are without a doubt one of the best teams in the nation. The Bulldogs rank 32nd in total offense, 10th in rushing offense, and they are a top three defense in the nation.

Writer’s Prediction

South Carolina is going to give it a go. They’ve won three straight games coming in, but Georgia has everything in their favor. Better players, coaching, and home field advantage. The pick here is the Bulldogs. Look for them to handle their business at home against an inferior team. Pick: Georgia (-24.5)
