Betting on Stan Wawrinka
Stan Wawrinka stormed into the fourth round of the Wimbledon with a resounding 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 win over unseeded Fernando Verdasco on Friday. It was a flawless performance from Wawrinka who needed just one hour and 54 minutes to eliminate the Spaniard.
[sc:Other240banner ]Just like in his previous two matches, Wawrinka’s serve was impressive once again. He converted 63% of his first serves against Verdasco with the Swiss winning 48 of his 55 first serve points (87%). Wawrinka also blasted 14 aces in the match, stretching his tournament total to 54.
Wawrinka has been impeccable in this event thus far as he has yet to drop a set in his opening three matches. He will look to continue his excellent form later today when he takes on David Goffin in the round of 16. He is 2-0 lifetime against Goffin with both of those victories coming in the Chennai Open.
For Wawrinka to beat Goffin and reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the second year running, he needs to improve on his flailing return. He won just 38% (37/97) of his receiving points on Friday and converted just three of his 16 break point chances. Wawrinka also needs to impose his aggressive style and dictate the tempo of the match. He did just that against Verdasco in the third round, hitting 32 winners.
Wawrinka is 9-1 in his last 10 matches.

Betting on David Goffin
David Goffin booked a place in the fourth round of Wimbledon with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win over Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis. This is the first time in his career that he has reached the round of 16 at the All-England Club. Things are bound to get tougher for the Belgian, though, as he will next face the reigning French Open champion Stan Wawrinka.
For Goffin to grab the massive upset, he will need to continue his excellent play on the service end. He put into play 63% of his first serves against Baghdatis with Goffin winning an incredible 87% (47/54) of those points. Goffin will also take heart in the fact that he’s hitting it beautifully from the baseline in this year’s event. He’s averaging 33.7 winners per match in this tournament thus far.
Goffin has to be aggressive right from the get-go for him to stand a chance against the two-time Grand Slam champion. He will need to put pressure on the Swiss star and he can do that by employing his highly-effective net play. He won 13 of his 19 net points (68%) in the previous round against Baghdatis. For the tournament, Goffin has won 76% (29/38) of his total net points.
Goffin is 6-4 in his last 10 matches.
