There is no reason to panic just yet for the Buccaneers. A game against an awful Carolina team could just be what the doctor ordered for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Speaking of which, Tom Brady went 25/40 for 243 passing yards and a touchdown without an interception in the loss to the Buccaneers, while the team’s ground attack mustered just 75 rushing yards. Defensively, the Buccaneers should be able to handle Carolina, which has not scored more than 16 points in three straight games.
The Under is 6-4 in the Buccaneers’ last 10 games overall.
Betting on the Carolina Panthers (+10.0)
Regular Season Record: 1-5
With Baker Mayfield injured as well as Sam Darnold and PJ Walker, who suffered an injury in Week 6, the Panthers might have to go with Jacob Eason as the team’s starting quarterback in Week 7’s showdown with the Buccaneers. That is not encouraging for the Panthers’ chances to snap their losing skid. It could also mean that the Panthers will have to expand even further the role of running back Christian McCaffrey. So long as they have McCaffrey, the Panthers will always have a lethal offensive weapon that can take over a game and dominate. McCaffrey rushed for 69 yards on 13 carries and added 89 receiving yards on seven receptions in the Rams game. Carolina’s defense also has a bit of potential to stifle Tampa Bay’s struggling attack.
