Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+7)

Mike Evans disappointed thousands of fantasy owners but his real-life employer, Tampa Bay, could care less, as the Bucs took down New Orleans, 16-11.

Evans failed to capitalize on the supposedly porous Saints’ defense, hauling down just four passes for 42 yards. The Bucs, however, didn’t need Evans to put up dizzying numbers, as their defense made sure that Drew Brees and the Saints’ high-octane offense didn’t take flight.

The Bucs limited New Orleans to only 294 total yards. They were particularly brutal against the pass, as the Bucs picked Brees off three times. Dallas isn’t as pass heavy as New Orleans, but taking Dak Prescott’s arm out of the picture will go a long way for the surging Bucs that has allowed a measly 12.8 points during their current five-game win streak.

Jameis Winston and Evans could also put up solid numbers against the Cowboys, who are dealing with injuries on their secondary unit.

Tampa Bay is 4-0 ATS in its last four road games.

Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (-7)

For the second time since Dak Prescott was handed the reins as the starting quarterback, the Cowboys lost a game, as Dallas saw its 11-game win streak end with a 10-7 setback at the hands of the New York Giants on Sunday.

Dallas ran into a Giants defense that limited the Cowboys to only 260 total yards. Dak Prescott had an abysmal performance, passing for only 165 yards (17/37) with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was also sacked three times, which speaks volumes about how great New York’s defense was in this game, considering that Dallas’ offensive line is regarded as the best in the game.

The Cowboys will look to bounce back against the rising Bucs, who, like the Giants, have been leaning on their improved defense to achieve success of late.

The Cowboys, however, remains a dangerous team on the attack with Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott expected to come into the game motivated. After all, a loss after a long while could be a blessing in disguise for the Cowboys, who may have played a bit lax after winning a ton of games.

Elliott rushed for 107 yards on 24 carries and wasn’t able to score a touchdown against the Giants. The former Buckeye will look to find the end zone next time around opposite Tampa Bay’s defense that has allowed 10 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Dallas is 4-1 ATS in its last five home games.
