Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-6)

Point Spread: (EVEN)

Coming into this season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were picked as one of the sneaky teams to make the playoffs, and then to really make some noise when they got there. Coming into this game though, barring some sort of miracle this team won’t be making the playoffs, and they will have a lot of questions to answer this coming off season.

For the Buccaneers they have struggled on both sides of the field, and it doesn’t look like it will get any better any time soon. In this game Ryan Fitzpatrick will be making his second start of the season. For him to have success he needs to not turn the ball over. He struggles turning the ball over, and if he can have zero interceptions in this game, no matter how many yards he throws, it has to be considered a success.

In this game they also need to play well on the defensive side of the ball. The Dolphins are a team that struggles on that side of the ball, and the Buccaneers can’t let them get settled in early. If Fitzpatrick doesn’t throw any interceptions, and the defense plays well they can pull the upset in this game.

Betting on the Miami Dolphins (4-5)

Point Spread: (EVEN)

On the other side of this match up is the Miami Dolphins who like the Buccaneers had high hopes coming into this season, but at this point they are going to need to get hot soon if they want to make the playoffs.

For the Dolphins most of their issues come on the offensive side of the ball. Coming into this game they are averaging 14.5 points per game which is 32nd in the NFL. Although Jay Cutler hasn’t played great, the play calling hasn’t really been suited to play his best so far this year.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Dolphins haven’t been terrible, but they struggled in the last game against the Carolina Panthers. They need to try and step up in this game and make Ryan Fitzpatrick turn the ball over a few times. If they can do that they should win this game.

Writer’s Prediction:

I think this is going to be a really ugly game with neither team able to get much going on the offensive side of the ball. I think in the end the Dolphins have a little better quarterback, and that will be the difference in this one. The Dolphins will win the game, but the Buccaneers will cover.

Pick: Tampa Bay (EVEN)
