Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs (-2.0)
Record: 10-0 Overall / 7-0 Conference
The Horned Frogs’ defense put up arguably its best performance of the season in Week 11. They held Texas to only 28 rushing yards and 199 total yards, while also not allowing Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers to pass for a touchdown. The Horned Frogs also intercepted him once. A stout defensive effort by TCU only makes the team look even more legit, especially in the eyes of Baylor which sputtered on offense in Week 11. The Horned Frogs already have a solid offense that entered Week 11 sixth in the nation in scoring.
TCU is 4-0 against the spread in its last four games overall.
Betting on the Baylor Bears (+2.0)
Record: 6-4 Overall / 4-3 Conference
Baylor’s offense suddenly did not show up in the loss to Kansas State. The Bears had scored at least 35 points in each of their past three contests, but they only mustered a single field goal for their only points against the Wildcats. That being said, that could just be an anomaly, and their high-scoring ways could be back to normal production against the Horned Frogs, whose defense functioned well last week, but still needs to be tested before it can be taken seriously. Excluding their output in the Kansas State game, the Bears have averaged 34.5 points this season.
Baylor is 3-1 against the spread in its last four games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
TCU wins, 36-27.
