TCU Horned Frogs vs Kansas Jayhawks Predictions, Picks, Odds, and NCAA Basketball Betting Preview – March 4 2020

The Kansas Jayhawks (+600 to win the national title) should be a bit thankful for what the TCU Horned Frogs did over the weekend. The win by the Horned Frogs over the Baylor Bears helped assure Kansas’ chances of winning the Big 12 regular-season title — again. Don’t expect the Jayhawks to go easy on the Horned Frogs (+100000) at home, though, this Wednesday.

Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs (16-13 Overall / 7-9 Conference)

The Horned Frogs got exactly the kind of win they need to boos their morale heading into a rematch with powerhouse Kansas — an upset win over the No. 2 ranked team in the nation. Last Saturday, the Horned Grogs hosted and beat the Baylor Bears in Fort Worth, 75-72, on the backs of a huge second-half surge that saw them score 54 points. Horned Frogs guard Desmond Bane erupted for 23 points with five 3-pointers while guard PJ Fuller chipped in 21 points to help combat Baylor’s renowned defense. The burst of offense for TCU came while Baylor’s own scorers struggle to find the bottom of the net, as the Bears shot just 42.9 percent from the field. The Horned Frogs also held Kansas to only 41.4 percent shooting from the floor back at home last February, but they shot even worse — just 35.2 percent. Coming off an inspiring win over Baylor, expect the Horned Frogs to have more confidence in their shot, at least early in the game in Lawrence.

The over is 5-4-1 in the Horned Frogs’ last 10 road games.

Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks (26-3 Overall / 15-1 Conference)

Who’s stopping the Jayhawks? Certainly not the Kansas State Wildcats, who lost to the Jayhawks in Manhattan last Saturday, 62-58. Jayhawks star big man Udoka Azubuike played only 20 minutes and scored just six points and pulled down nine rebounds though he had to battle through an apparent ankle injury. Azubuike should be fine and ready to go in the rematch against the Horned Frogs, whom he dominated so thoroughly in the first meeting. In the previous matchup against TCU, Azubuike scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds while swatting away five shots in 31 minutes of action. Kansas outrebounded TCU by a wide margin, 44-31, and that’s likely going to happen again, especially with the Jayhawks playing at the comfort of their own court in Lawrence. The Jayhawks are 37th in the nation with 38.6 rebounds per contest.

The Jayhawks are 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Kansas wins, 75-60.
