Betting on the Tennessee Titans (+10)
Regular Season Record: 0-1
Tennessee suffered a 21-20 home loss at the hands of the New York Giants in Week 1 despite Ryan Tannehill throwing for two touchdowns and zero interceptions on 20/33 completions. Running back Derrick Henry was uncharacteristically put in check, as he only came up with 82 rushing yards on 21 carries, so there will be pressure on Tannehill and his receivers to stretch the field a bit against Buffalo to let Henry have bigger lanes to burst through. It still is a guessing game for the Titans’ receiving corps with no clear alpha downfield following the departures of Julio Jones and AJ Brown, but that could work in the Titans’ favor, as that could keep the Bills’ defense extra honest.
The Titans are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games after a straight-up loss. They are also 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 Monday games.
Betting on the Buffalo Bills (-10)
Regular Season Record: 1-0
Josh Allen and the Bills couldn’t have made a louder statement in Week 1 , as they demolished the reigning Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams in Hollywood, 31-10. Allen went 26/31 for 297 passing yards and three touchdowns with a pair of interceptions but also rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Even more impressive was Buffalo’s defense which had seven sacks and three interceptions. With the seeming lack of weapons on the Titans’ offense, Buffalo might just get yet another dominant showing from its stop unit.
The Bills are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five games as a favorite. Buffalo is also 3-0-1 against the spread in its last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bills win, 27-20.
