Betting on the Tennessee Titans (2-3)

It’s amazing how Marcus Mariota is still alive and able to walk. Mariota was sacked 9-times in Week 3, then got nailed five more times in Week 5’s 14-7 home loss to the Buffalo Bills, thus preventing the Titans from getting much going on offense. Mariota only had 183 passing yards with zero touchdowns on 13-of-22 completions. On the season, Mariota has been taken down a total of 22 times. That said, the Titans have shown that they are capable of putting up a great offensive performance. Back in Week 1, they obliterated the Cleveland Browns’ defense for 43 points and also defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4 on the road, 24-10, with Mariota actually getting some protection in the latter outing. Derrick Williams can be a problem for the Broncos’ defense that is only 22nd in the league against the run, allowing 126.4 rushing yards per game. That plays well for the Titans’ offense that runs 46.03 percent of their plays on the ground.

The Titans are 3-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last four road games.

Betting on the Denver Broncos (1-4)

At last, Joe Flacco got his first win in a non-Baltimore Ravens uniform, as the Broncos short-circuited the Los Angeles Chargers in a 20-13 road win last Sunday. Flacco went 14 for 20 for 182 yards and a touchdown with an interception, while running back Phillip Lindsay had 114 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. The Broncos’ defense impressed, too, despite not recording a single sack, as they held Los Angeles down to only 246 total yards. As mentioned earlier, the Titans’ offensive line are some of the most inept in the league right now, and that’s something Broncos star linebacker Von Miller will be very much willing to exploit. Miller leads the team with two sacks on the season. The Broncos, who are allowing just 202.2 passing yards per game are also 10th in the league with 21.2 points surrendered per game.

The under is 8-2 in the Broncos’ last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Broncos win. 19-16.
