Derrick Henry is still a beast. There’s a feeling that Henry is not being talked about as much as other running backs this season, but that’s also because people are expecting big numbers from him every week no matter what. In Week 7, Henry rushed for 128 yards on 30 carries. He has now rushed for at least 102 yards in three straight games, coming up with three rushing touchdowns over that span. Tennessee’s defense, meanwhile, could neutralize Texans running backs, as the Titans are among the best in the NFL in stopping the run. In fact, they allow the fewest rushing touchdowns per game in the NFL.
The Titans are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall.
Betting on the Houston Texans (+3.5)
Regular Season Record: 1-4-1
The Texans are not going to make the playoffs but they seem like they can punch above their weight from time to time. That is also why they are 3-2-1 against the spread so far this season. Davis Mills is not a superstar. He’s not even a second-tier quarterback, but he can get the job done sometimes. In the loss to the Raiders, he went 28/41 for 302 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Texans rookie running back Dameon Pierce is also gaining more and more confidence as the team’s No. 1 tailback. He had 92 rushing yards on 20 carries versus Las Vegas and now has 322 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his last three games.
The Over is 3-1 in the Texans’ last three outings.
Writer’s Prediction
The Titans win, 26-23.
