West No. 6 Texas Longhorns (Overall: 20-12, Conf: 11-7)
Team Strengths
Shaka Smart has done a tremendous job guiding the Texas Longhorns. They’ve had plenty of success this season en route to a berth in the NCAA tournament. The Longhorns have a guard-heavy, high-pressure system with their backcourt duo of Isaiah Taylor and Javan Felix. But they also enjoy plenty of production from center Cameron Ridley. The Longhorns do much of their production on the defensive side, limiting opponents to 68.1 points per game (84th in the nation).
Team Weaknesses
Ball movement and rebounding seems to be a problem for the Longhorns. Having a guard-heavy lineup has Texas rushing in for the score. They don’t seem to sit back to look for the open man with just 11.5 assists per game (301st in the nation). Their inclination to run the fast break often has sacrificed their performance on the boards. They rank 265th with just 34.5 rebounds per game.Team Stats
