While all eyes will be on the Edmonton vs Montreal game after the Johnny Manziel (likely to start) trade from the Tiger Cats to the Alouettes, the Toronto Argonauts and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will square off for the second time in a span of a week this Friday. Will Toronto avenge their loss to the Blue Bombers in Week 6? Or will Winnipeg double down on its mastery of the Argonauts?

Betting on the Toronto Argonauts (1-4)
The Argonauts absorbed yet another loss last week, falling prey to Winnipeg at home last week, 38-20. A quick look on that game’s numbers easily makes it clear that Toronto needs more than a duct-tape fix on its defense to come back stronger in the rematch. Toronto allowed 236 passing yards and 184 more on the ground against the Blue Bombers. As for their own offense, Toronto quarterback James Franklin struggled mightily, completing just 21 of 26 passes for 161 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception. Toronto does not have a scary passing game, with only one player catching a touchdown so far this season. That’s fullback Declan Cross, who has two TD receptions. That said, he did not have any reception at all in Week 6. Thanks to the Argonauts’ anemic offense, — (8th in the league in both passing and rushing yards) – Toronto has gone 6-1 in its last seven games.
Betting on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (3-3)
As implied earlier, Winnipeg had a field day mocking Toronto’s defense last week. Blue Bombers quarterback Matt Nichols passed for 245 yards on 19-for-27 completions with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. It’s running back Andre Harris, who should be drawing the most attention, though. Harris leads the CFL in rushing yards (610) and rushing touchdowns (5). Last week, Harris ran around Toronto’s defense for 161 rushing yards and a touchdown. A week before that, Harris had 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns, albeit in a 20-17 loss to BC. Harris can extend his dominance on the ground again against Toronto, which does have a very porous defense, one that has allowed the second-most yards to opponents this season. For bettors, it should also be noted that Winnipeg has covered the spread in each of its last five meetings with the Argonauts. Winnipeg sacked Franklin twice last week. The Blue Bombers now have 13 quarterback sacks, the second most in the league this season.
Writer’s Prediction
Winnipeg beats Toronto again, 28-17.
