Chris Buescher (+8000)

Buescher is on the edge of the playoff cutoff line with 370 points after 15 starts, so far this season. The Roush Fenway Racing driver is coming off an eighth-place finish in the 2021 Coca-Cola 600. That was a solid way to bounce back for Buescher, who entered that race after a 13th-place finish in the 2021 EchoPark Texas Grand Prix and 17th in the 2021 Drydene 400. As for his track record at Sonoma Raceway, Buescher has yet to crack the top 10 there, but he has an average finish of 15.6 over his last three appearances on that track. Buescher’s best finish so far this season was seventh in the 2021 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Ross Chastain (+8000)

Chastain turned heads when he finished fourth in the 2021 EchoPark Texas Grand Prix. But just when it looked like he’s about to have another strong start after that, he ended up with just a 37th-place finish due to mechanical issues. Nevertheless, Chastain has finished inside the top 20 in all but one of his last eight starts. He only has one career NASCAR Cup Series appearance at Sonoma Raceway, which was a forgettable 33rd-place finish there during the 2019 Toyota / Save Mart 350.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+25000)

Stenhouse is on the outside looking in of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs with 308 points to his name, thus far. He had a solid showing, though, in his most recent start, finishing 12th in the 2021 Coca-Cola 600. That could be enough momentum for the JTG Daugherty Racing driver, whose best finish to date this year was runner-up campaign in the 2021 Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway (dirt) back in late March.
