Betting on the Villanova Wildcats (16-1)

The Wildcats will beat one team, prepare for another game, and beat whoever it is they face next. That has been Villanova’s monotonous approach this season. The junior tandem of Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges is just unfair to have for Villanova, which feeds off the pair’s dynamism on the floor. The Wildcats are fifth in the nation in scoring, dropping 88.3 points per game on opposing teams. Brunson and Bridges could have a field day finding the bottom of the net against a Huskies team that ranks 131st in Division I ball with 71/4 points per game. Brunson leads the Wildcats with 18.8 points per game, while Bridges contributes 17.5.

Expect the Wildcats to make it rain from behind the arc, too. They are sinking 11.2 three-pointer per game on an exceptional 41.4 shooting percentage from deep.

Betting on the Connecticut Huskies (10-7)

It’s good to be back home for the Huskies. Dating back to November of last year, UConn has gone 8-1 SU in its home games, which includes the Huskies’62-53 win in Hartford over UCF on Jan. 10. It’s one thing to beat an unranked Knights team at home. It’s an entirely different thing to face the nation’s top team, even at the comfort of ones’ home court. The Huskies have a talented scorer in Jalen Adams, who is averaging 18.9 points per game. They also have Tery Larrier and his 15.3 points per game output, but there has to be more players stepping up for Huskies if they are to slay a giant at home this Saturday. The Huskies could also capitalize on the turnovers of the Wildcats, as Villanova is committing 14.1 errors per game.

Writer’s Prediction:

Villanova gets another W with a 82-74 win over UConn.
