Betting on the Virginia Tech Hokies (odds)

Record: 13-8 Overall/3-7 Conference

After losing seven games in a row, the Hokies are finally awake. Virginia Tech is now on a two-game win streak after beating the Syracuse Orange on Saturday at home, 85-70. They also beat the Duke Blue Devils in Blacksburg last week, 78-75. Key to the recent resurgence of Virginia Tech is its humming offense which has posted 122.1 and 121.0 offensive efficiencies in its last two games, respectively. The Hokies have also been shooting the three ball better, with 23 3-pointers on 51 attempts combined against Duke and Syracuse.

Virginia Tech is 2-0-1 against the spread in its last three games overall.

Betting on the Miami Hurricanes (odds)

Record: 16-5 Overall/7-4 Conference

Miami is having a hard time being consistent. The Hurricanes have alternated losses with wins over their last seven games, during which they’ve neither won nor lost in back-to-back fashion. In their last game, the Hurricanes lost to the Pittsburgh Panthers on the road Saturday, 71-68. Nevertheless, Miami’s offense is going to keep the team afloat most of the time. The Hurricanes are 12th in the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency and have recorded no worse than a 56 eFG% in any of their last two outings.

Miami is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Virginia Tech wins, 73-71.
