Betting on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (+5.5)
Record: 16-11 Overall/7-7 Conference
Oklahoma State has lost both its last two games. The Cowboys suffered an 87-76 defeat at home to the Kansas Jayhawks on Valentine’s Day and then got taken down by the TCY Horned Frogs on the road last Saturday, 100-75. Kalib Boone, who leads the Sooners this season in scoring, only had three points in 10 minutes of action due to foul trouble. He is definitely aching to get back on the court again and play with more freedom, and he could get that opportunity as soon as this Monday versus West Virginia, which already lost to Oklahoma State this season. The Cowboys beat the Mountaineers in Stillwater last month, 67-60.
Oklahoma State, third in the Big 12 with 100.8 points allowed per 100 possessions adjusted, is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.
Betting on the West Virginia Mountaineers (-5.5)
Record: 15-12 Overall/4-10 Conference
West Virginia is also on a slump, having gone 0-3 straight up in its last three games. The last time the Mountaineers saw action, they lost to the Texas Tech Red Raiders at home Saturday, 78-72. Erik Stevenson tried to tow the Mountaineers to a win versus Texas Tech, as he put up 27 points on 9/21 shooting in a losing effort, while Kedrian Johnson had 20 points on 8/13 shooting. The Mountaineers entered the game against Texas Tech averaging 76.4 points per outing and allowing 70.5 points per contest.
West Virginia is 2-1 against the spread in its last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
West Virginia wins,65-62.
