TV Broadcast: CBS

Betting on the West Virginia Mountaineers (+7.0)

Record: 15-10 Overall/4-8 Conference

West Virginia absolutely bombed in its last game, as the Mountaineers got tossed in the losers’ pit by the Texas Longhorns in last Saturday’s 94-80 defeat in Austin. The Mountaineers were trying to extend a winning streak to three games when they faced off with the Longhorns, but here they can pick the pieces up right away this Monday. West Virginia lost to the Bears back in January in Morgantown, 83-78, as they shot just 38.3 percent from the floor in that game. Still, the Mountaineers got more shots (60-520 and more rebounds (34-32) plus had fewer turnovers (10-7) in that meeting with Baylor. The Mountaineers know their offense can keep up with Baylor’s, and it will just be up to their accuracy from the field on Monday. The Mountaineers are top-20 in the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency.

West Virginia is 5-5 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.

Betting on the Baylor Bears (-7.0)

Record: 19-6 Overall/8-4 Conference

In their most recent outing, the Bears handed the TCU Horned Frogs a 72-68 win on the road on Saturday. Baylor has won all its last three games and nine of their last 10. All told, the Bears are in very good shape heading into the rematch against West Virginia. Their offense is humming and they could still be hot from deep when they face off with the Mountaineers again. The Bears went 10/26 from deep versus TCU. In the first meeting with West Virginia, Baylor went 9/23 from behind the arc.

Baylor, which has hit at least nine 3-pointers in each of its last three games, is 7-2-1 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Baylor wins, 79-75.
