Betting on the Texas Tech Red Raiders (ODDS)
Record: 12-10 Overall/1-8 Conference
Texas Tech is on a high following a huge come-from-behind 80-77 overtime victory over the Iowa State Cyclones Monday night. With that win, the Red Raiders have now built a nice little two-game win streak to give them some momentum heading into the rematch versus Baylor. The Red Raiders lost to Baylor in Lubbock on Jan. 17 to the tune of an 81-74 score. Texas Tech’s offense has been looking up of late, having scored 156 points in its last two games. Kevin Obanor scored 24 points against Iowa State, while De’Vion Harmon had 19. Those two were pretty silent in the first meeting with Baylor but should be in great form when they take the court on Saturday.
Texas Tech is 2-0 against the spread in its last two games.
Betting on the Baylor Bears (ODDS)
Record: 16-6 Overall/5-4 Conference
Baylor can’t wait to get back on the court after seeing its six-game win streak get snapped by the Texas Longhorns in a 76-71 loss in Austin Monday. Still, the Bears’ run prior to that loss was impressive, as it included wins against the likes of the Oklahoma Sooners, Kansas Jayhawks, and Arkansas Razorbacks. Baylor’s offense is always ah handful to deal with for opposing teams. The Bears are No. 2 in the nation with 119.8 points per 100 possessions adjusted. They also rebound the ball well and don’t turn the ball over as much as the other teams do. In fact, the Bears are No. 1 in the Big 12 in turnover rate.
Baylor is 4-2-1 against the spread in its last seven games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Baylor wins, 78-70.
