The Washington Commanders showed some signs of life again in Week 7 with Taylor Heinicke quarterbacking for them, as they beat Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers at home, 23-21. The Commanders are now undefeated over the last two weeks and they will look to make it three in a row, which the Indianapolis Colts failed to do when they lost to the Tennessee Titans on the road last Sunday, 19-10. Will the Commanders take down Indianapolis? Or will the Colts bounce back with a victory? Check out our preview of this Commanders vs Colts game in Week 8 of the 2022 NFL regular season.

Line: Washington Commanders (+3.5) vs Indianapolis Colts (-3.5) – view all 2022 NFL lines

TV Broadcast: FOX

Betting on the Washington Commanders (+3.5)

Regular Season Record: 3-4

Heinicke was far from perfect in his first start of the season, but he did do enough to tow his team to a win. Heinicke passed for 201 yards and two touchdowns on 20/33 completions. He threw a pick early but did not turn the ball over since. Heinicke should continue to start with Carson Wentz on the injured reserve. That could be interpreted as good news for Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel, who both excelled with Heinicke under center in Week 7. Beating the Packers is a huge confidence booster for Washington, which is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games versus a team with a losing record.

Bet on the Washington Football Team

Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (-3.5)

Regular Season Record: 3-3-1

Offensive line issues slowed down the Colts in Week 7, with Matt Ryan getting sacked three times for a loss of 16 yards. Ryan finished with 243 passing yards and a touchdown with two interceptions on 33/44 completions. On paper, the Colts should be tough to deal with for opposing defenses, especially downfield. Michael Pittman Jr., Parris Campbell, and Alec Pierce form a solid trio that can shine in Week 8 against Washington’s defense that has only two interceptions to show after seven weeks of football.

The Colts are 13-3-1 against the spread in their last 17 games after scoring fewer than 15 points in their previous outing.

Bet on the Indianapolis Colts

Writer’s Prediction

The Colts win, 24-21.
