The Washington Redskins have an edge in their fairly recent rivalry with the Philadelphia Eagles, claiming five of the last six games straight up, and going 6-1 against the spread (ATS) over the last seven. That being said, the Eagles has the edge on this season, beating the Redskins in Week 1.

Betting on the Washington Redskins (3-2)
The Redskins are coming off of a 26-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. It was a goos start, with Washington driving their opening possession to a TD for the third straight game and managed to push their lead to 17-0. Redskins defense let up a bit, allowing the 49ers to get back into the game, tying the score 17-17 late in the third quarter where it looked like Washington would give up the game. They ended up keeping their composure, scoring the next nine points and hanging on from there on in. Washington outgained San Francisco 419-335 and owned time of possession 37-23.
Importantly, the Redskins have outgained three of its last four opponents and outrushed four of its last five.
Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (5-1)
The Eagles are brining a four-game winning streak into Monday night football, having added the fourth in Week 6 on the road against the Carolina Panthers in a 28-23 victory.
Philadelphia trailed the Carolina early in the game (10-3) but put together a 25-6 run to change the momentum of the game, where they clinched the straight up victory as three-point dogs with a key interception and a defensive stop just in their own territory. By the end of the game, the Eagles had outgained the Panthers 310-305, outrushed them 101-80 and won the battle of turnovers by 3-1.
The Philadelphia Eagles have now outgained five of six opponents here in the 2017 season and outrushed four of six. Factor in the fact that the Eagles already have one win over the Redskins this season (Week 1) where they outgained the Washington 356-264 and won time of possession by a 34-26 margin, and it isn’t hard to envision a Philly stake this Monday.
Writer’s Prediction:
Week 1 aside, history speaks for itself here. Eight of the last 10 games in this series have been decided by one score or less, and that opening season affair was a five-point game until the Eagles returned a fumble to clinch a win with just over a minute to go. Smart money here takes the Redskins and the points.
