Weekly Sports Gif Roundup – December 16

What do you get when you combine Christmas, some failed dunks and an attempt at sorcery? This week’s Sports GIF Round-up, of course!

This week’s list is especially grab-baggy and it’s sure to have something for absolutely everyone.

Weekly Sports Gif and Highlight Roundup

*h/t’s to Deadspin, The Big Lead, Fansided, Guyism, @gifdsports and @cjzero for this week’s GIFs

Santa Phil and Psycho Paps

With Christmas mere days away, the sports world is getting into the holiday spirit with some Christmas-themed pics being posted on social media.

phil-and-jeanie

Here’s Phil Jackson, with girlfriend Jeanie Buss, sporting a nice Santa cap. Too bad Phil didn’t grow out his signature beard to complete the look.

And here’s Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon looking either overly festive or incredibly creepy. You be the judge.

We don’t really know what’s more repulsing: Papelbon’s sweater or that look on his mustachioed face.

An MVP Proposal on Ellen

Last week’s round-up featured a touching proposal to a Luv-a-bull at a Bulls game. Not to be outdone, reigning NL MVP Andrew McCutchen popped the question to his lucky lady on Ellen.

DeAndre’s Dunk Fail

DeAndre Jordan isn’t accustomed to getting his monstrous dunks stopped by anyone (RIP Brandon Knight). But DeAndre’s power went for naught as his placement on this rim attack proved a little faulty.

DeAndre Jordan's Failed Dunk Got Stuck

Isaiah Thomas Will Block Your Dunk

DeAndre better not try bringing that weak stuff on 5-foot-10 Isaiah Thomas, who proved that height is no hindrance from humiliating fools like the 6-foot-10 Bernard James.

Stern All Choked Up

So what does David Stern think of that play?

OK, so Commissioner Stern wasn’t at the Kings-Mavs game, but had he seen Isaiah Thomas stuff a dunk attempt by someone a foot taller than him, he’d probably have a similar reaction.

One Small Step for San Diego, One Giant Leap for Keenan Allen’s ROY Chances

Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen made a strong case for his Rookie of the Year candidacy with a strong showing in San Diego’s Thursday night upset of the Broncos in Denver.

Allen only had two catches but both of them were for touchdowns, including this spectacular effort where he hurdles past a Broncos defender for the score.

Let’s look at that in another angle.

“You Suck, Eli!” screamed child at MetLife.

IN THE FACE!

The Dolphins hung on to deliver a big upset against the Patriots, but had they not, this poorly executed field-goal attempt that hits the holder in the face (IN THE FACE!) would’ve been blamed for the defeat.

Black Magic in Green Bay

Leave it to Packers fans to pull out all the stops to help their beloved team out – in this case, healing the injured Aaron Rodgers – even if it involves some “alternative” methods.

Unfortunately, Rodgers didn’t play against the Cowboys, which means the ritual failed… or did it?

IT WORKED!!

int

Perhaps instead of healing Rodgers, it inadvertently put a curse on Tony Romo and the Cowboys as they blew a 26-3 halftime lead with two key 4th quarter interceptions.

TRAA

But then, how could we explain the truly inexplicable Cowboys before this week?

…And we’re out!

dez-bryant

Like Dez Bryant some 80 seconds before the end of a truly humiliating home meltdown, this week’s round-up is outta here.

Tune back next week for another edition of the Gif Roundup, and check out the sportsbook for odds lines for all of this week’s exciting matchups.
