2022 Wise Power 400 Sleepers and Sleeper Picks and Predictions

Never ignore the drivers with longer odds. While the likes of Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Kyle Busch are surely going to get the most attention heading into the 2022 Wise Power 400 NASCAR Cup Series race this coming Sunday, it’s still wise – pun intended – to consider the other ones who could deliver a huge payday for those brave enough to take a chance on them.

Christopher Bell (+3300)

Bell figured in an accident in the 2022 Daytona 500 and had to settle for just a 34th place. He will look to recover right away this weekend at the Auto Club Speedway, where he’s got minimal experience racing. Bell has appeared in just one NASCAR Cup Series race in Fontana and that was in 2020 when he finished last because of engine failure. However, Bell has managed a couple of top 15s in his next three starts on an intermediate track., He finished 13th in both the 2020 and 2021 FireKeepers Casino 400 at the Michigan International Speedway. In between was a 17th place in the Consumers Energy 400, also at the Michigan International Speedway.

Chase Briscoe (+5000)

Briscoe has never raced a NASCAR Cup Series event in Fontana, making him some sort of a mystery for this weekend’s 2022 Auto Club 400. Despite the absence of experience on that track, Briscoe can bank on momentum, having finished third at the 2022 Daytona 500. He has also appeared in only one NASCAR Cup Series race on an intermediate track, earning a respectable 11th-place finish in the 2021 FireKeepers Casino 400 at the Michigan International Speedway.

Bubba Wallace Jr (+10000)

Wallace nearly made Daytona 500 history, as he finished a close second in last Sunday’s huge race. With that strong performance, Wallace might have just set a tone for what’s to come from the 23XI Racing driver. Wallace has never placed better than 20th in three career appearances at the Auto Club Speedway, but has a cuple of top 20s in his last three starts on an intermediate track, including a ninth place in the 2020 FireKeepers Casino 400 at the Michigan International Speedway.
