Recap: Qualifying for the playoffs as a wildcard, the Baltimore Ravens were one of the top defensive teams in the regular season. They went to Super Bowl XXXV relying on their defense and went all the way to the title by beating the New York Giants, 34-to-7.


The Ravens’ defense contained the Giants to a total of 152 yards gained, the third fewest in Super Bowl history. The Ravens had 4 sacks and forced 5 turnovers and became the first and only team to prevent an opponent from scoring an offensive touchdown. Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis finished with 11 tackles, 6 assists and blocked 4 passes and was named Super Bowl XXXV MVP. Baltimore quarterback Trent Dilfer completed 12-of-25 passes for 153 yards and a 1 TD while running back Jamal Lewis had 102 yards on 27 carries.
