FAVORITES

Kyle Larson (+550)

Larson has been one of the most consistent drivers in the Cup Series this season, making the top 10 in four of the last five races. The Hendrick Motorsports driver won the most recent road course race at Sonoma, which bodes well for his chances this weekend. Last year, Larson finished fourth in the inaugural Chicago Street Race.

Shane Van Gisbergen (+550)

The New Zealand native pulled off a stunning upset in his NASCAR debut last season, winning the Grant Park 165 from the third starting position. Van Gisbergen has been impressive in his limited Cup Series appearances, and his road course prowess in the Xfinity Series, including wins at Portland and Sonoma this year, makes him a top contender again.

Christopher Bell (+600)

Bell has been a force to be reckoned with on road courses in 2024, winning both stages and leading the most laps in Nashville before a late strategy call dropped him to 36th. Last year in Chicago, Bell won the first two stages before fading late. He’ll look to put together a complete race this time around.

Tyler Reddick (+600)

Reddick has been one of the most consistent drivers on the grid recently, making the top 10 in five of the last six races. He led the most laps and won the first stage in Sonoma before finishing eighth. Last year in Chicago, Reddick finished in the top three in the first two stages before a strategy call relegated him to 28th.

Chase Elliott (+750)

Elliott is always a threat on road courses, with wins at Road America, Watkins Glen, Austin, and the Charlotte Roval in his career. Last year in Chicago, he started 26th and finished third. Elliott will look to bounce back from back-to-back 18th-place finishes in his quest for his first win of the season. The Grant Park 165 promises to be another exciting street course race, with a mix of Cup Series regulars and road course ringers looking to take home the trophy. Larson, Van Gisbergen, Bell, Reddick, and Elliott are all poised to contend for the victory, but don’t count out other sleepers like Michael McDowell, William Byron, and Denny Hamlin.

LONG SHOT

Austin Dillon (+25000)

Dillon’s success in all three of NASCAR’s top series, including championships in the Truck and Xfinity Series and a Daytona 500 victory, have made him one of the highest earners of his generation of NASCAR drivers.

Writer’s Prediction

Kyle Larson wins the 2024 Grant Park 165.
