Since the lines opened just over five days ago, there has been a lot of movement across the board. The Houston Texans and New England Patriots game has definitely seen the most action so far, but a trend has begun throughout the league and the weekend. 2016-17 NFL AFC & NFC Divisional Playoff Line Movement and Betting Trends
Seattle Seahawks (+4.5) vs Atlanta Falcons (-4.5)
Barely two hours after opening this line got some major action. The Seahawks-Falcons then bounced from -4 to -5. However, they’ve since been readjusted to -4.5. At the present time, we have 59% of cash and 61% of bets taking Atlanta. Now, keep in mind, you’ll want to stay tuned before this game kicks off because there’s still a great chance there could be another move just before kickoff. The way the market is shifting there’s a good chance you haven’t seen the last of the movement here.
Houston Texans (+16.5) vs New England Patriots (-16.5)
An absolutely unprecedented 84% of cash and 88% of bets are behind the New England Patriots despite opening as a robust 16-point favorite. Think about it though, if Jacoby Brissett can beat Houston 27-0 back in week three, Tom Brady shouldn’t have too much trouble against a squad that this time lacks J.J. Watt. There’s a chance the line could bounce again on this one but don’t expect anything too drastic. Houston needs a miracle in this game. With that said, if they can pull it off, that miracle could score you a ton of cash!
Pittsburgh Steelers (+1.5) vs Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5)
We’ve definitely seen a few line shifts in this one. Ben Roethlisberger exited his wild card playoff victory press conference in a walking boot and his injury hasn’t really been updated that well since. We’ve heard “he’s fine” and “he’ll play”. So, with that, do you feel comfortable putting dough down on the Steelers? Well, Big Ben’s ankle is likely the main reason the line changed from Pittsburgh -1 to Kansas City -1.5 just 90 minutes after it opened. At the current time, the line still remains Chiefs -1.5 and 62% of cash along with 65% of bets are taking Pitt on the spread. Also, there’s a huge decision on the moneyline here as 77% of bets and 79% of cash are on the Steelers. With the way the market is leaning, there’s a chance the spread could move again before kickoff on Sunday.
Green Bay Packers (+4.5) vs Dallas Cowboys (-4.5)
When the line opened, Dallas sat as -4 favorites on Monday morning. That spread saw quite a bit of action and with the scare of Jordy Nelson, quickly bounced up to -4.5. On Tuesday it was announced that Nelson would not play, but this didn’t come as surprise to many, so the line stayed. Currently 71% of cash and 74% of bets are taking Green Bay at +4.5.
