Saturday, March 11

Bournemouth vs. West Ham United (10:00 AM ET)

Bournemouth picked up a decent result last time out with a 1-1 draw with Manchester United, but it came at a cost. Defender Tyrone Mings is now set to miss the next five games after being charged with violent conduct. A suspension to one of their starting defenders is just about the last thing an already shaky Cherries defense needed. Bournemout are in desperate need of a win after picking up just one in their last eight games. But their recent home form (two draws, three losses in five) doesn’t inspire much confidence.

West Ham aren’t in incredible form, either, but they have proven to be a tricky team away from home. They’ve lost just once in their last five away games (3-1-1), scoring at least three goals in all three of their wins.

Writer’s Prediction: West Ham (+165) heap more pressure on Bournemouth as they grab a 2-1 away win.

Everton vs. West Bromwich Albion (10:00 AM ET)

Everton finally suffered their first league defeat of 2017 as they were defeated by Tottenham. There’s no shame in that loss, though, especially since White Hart Lane has been an absolute fortress this season. But Goodison Park has been a similarly tough place to play in this year. Everton have a terrific home record, with eight wins, four draws, and a defeat, with 27 goals scored and 10 conceded. They’ve won their last four home games in a row, and the total score in those games was a dominant 15-3.

That doesn’t bode well for a West Brom side that has not been very good away from home. The Baggies have just one win in their last seven away games (1-3-3). They also dropped points at home in their previous game, as they were stunned 2-0 by Crystal Palace.

Writer’s Prediction: Everton (-175) keep rolling at home as they beat West Brom, 2-0

Hull City vs. Swansea (10:00 AM ET)

Hull could really use another win. They lost 3-1 to Leicester last time out, and have now picked up just one point in their last three games since their big home win against Liverpool last month. Their home form will be absolutely crucial in their chances of staying up. They’re unbeaten in their last four games at the KCOM, and have beaten Swansea in five or their last six meetings at home in all competitions.

However, they’ll be facing an in-form Swansea team that’s won five of their last eight games. The Swans should be flying high after a magnificent 3-2 come-from-behind win over Burnley. Striker Fernando Llorente is in very good form, scoring three goals in his last two games.

Writer’s Prediction: Hull scrap and claw their way to a 1-1 home draw (+220) with Swansea.

Sunday, March 12

Liverpool vs. Burnley (11:00 AM ET)

It’s been hard to trust Liverpool this season, especially since they’ve struggled against lesser sides. But you’ve got to think they’d be capable of eventually finding a way past the worst away team in the Premier League in Burnley at Anfield. The Reds have lost just once in 12 league games this season, with 34 goals scored (the second-most at home behind only leaders Chelsea),

Meanwhile, the Clarets are still in search of their first away win of the season (0-2-11). They picked up a rare point (and goal) in their last away trip to Hull, but leaving Anfield with a positive result will be a much, much, tougher proposition.

Writer’s Prediction: Liverpool turn on the style with a 3-0 home win. With the moneyline obviously inflated, take the Reds at -1.5, -2 on the Asian Handicap for some better value on a Liverpool win.
