Francesco Molinari (+6,000)

One golfer who can definitely make a run at the WGC-Mexico crown this week is Francesco Molinari. The Italian has been on fire to start the year, grabbing top-14 finishes in three of his first four starts, with his only misstep coming at Riviera. He bounced back from that missed cut at the Genesis Open with a T14 at the Honda Classic.

Key to Molinari’s strong start this season has been his superb play from tee to green. He is 27th in the PGA Tour in strokes gained in that particular department with an impressive .964 clip. That will be a major weapon for Molinari when dealing with the nooks and crannies of this tough Chapultepec course.

Brendan Steele (+5,000)

Looking for a worthy sleeper this week? How about the red-hot Brendan Steele? The California native has been in outstanding form of late, notching top-20 finishes in five of his last six starts, including a tie for 14th at last week’s Honda Classic. Steele will fancy his chances of extending that excellent form in Mexico City this week as he has fared extremely well in elevated courses in the past. He’s 5-for-5 with four top-10s at the Barracuda Championship. That experience will prove crucial for Steele as he attempts to win the first WGC title of his career.

Jhonattan Vegas (+7,500)

Another golfer who’s primed for a huge performance this week is Jhonattan Vegas. He has been playing some superb golf of late, finishing in the top-15 in each of his last two starts, including a tie for fourth at the Honda Classic. What makes Vegas such a threat in every golf tournament that he competes in is his length off the tee. He is 52nd in the PGA Tour in driving distance, averaging 297.3 yards per drive this season. That powerful swing will come in handy for Vegas when tackling the tough 7,330-yard, par-71 Chapultepec course.
