Bleacher Report featured columnist David Kenyon’s Week 5 ATS picks are in, and he likes himself some road teams. He has picked seven out of the 10 road teams in select games either winning outright or covering the spread.
Kenyon sees superstar Christian McCaffrey as the key to victory for Stanford (now a +3 underdog at TopBet) against Washington, whose run defense was exposed a bit in an overtime win over Arizona last week. Meanwhile, he tips Texas freshman Shane Buechele to lift the Longhorns in a potential shootout with Oklahoma State.
And in the big ACC showdown, he’s going with Louisville. While he acknowledges that Clemson can be really good, we’ve actually seen Lamar Jackson and Louisville light up everyone put in front of them this season. He just can’t ignore all that evidence, which is why he went with the Cards (-1.5) to come out on top in Death Valley.

CollegeFootballNews.com has a whole crew of college football experts, and they once again congregated to give their picks for Week 5’s games. For the sake of space, we’ve cut their 10-deep pool of experts in half and narrowed down the games to the five biggest on the slate.
All five experts were unanimous with their picks of Florida State and Michigan to not only win, but cover double-digit spreads. (The Noles are now down to -11 at TopBet, while the Wolverines are -10.5 over the Tar Heels). Three of the five experts were even confident enough to lock Michigan up, as signified by the asterisk. The experts also went 4-1 with Tennessee (now down to -3 at TopBet) to top its SEC East matchup against Georgia.
Stanford-Washington and Louisville-Clemson were predictably more split, but the experts still sided with the favorites, Washington (-3) and Louisville (-1.5), to come away with massive wins.

Athlon Sports senior editor Rob Doster is on deck for this week’s edition of the site’s experts challenge, and he’s gone for most of the favorites to win. Of the 10 selected games, he has only Arizona State and Utah coming away with upsets. (To be fair, the Sun Devils winning outright at USC would be quite an upset, seeing as they’re +10 road underdogs.)
However, he does see some ATS upsets, specifically with two of the biggest games of the week. He has both Wisconsin and UNC both losing by just a touchdown, which would see them easily cover their respective double-digit spreads. The Badger defense is certainly good enough to keep it close at the Big House, while UNC has the firepower to keep pace with Florida State.
