Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (+2.5)
Dallas stretched its unbeaten run to seven games with an impressive 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. It was an incredible win for the Cowboys, who are 7-1 for the first time since the 2007 season. Leading the way for the Cowboys in this victory was Ezekiel Elliott. He ran for 92 yards and two touchdowns as he continued his excellent start to his NFL career.
With Elliott wreaking havoc on the ground, that opened things up for rookie quarterback Dak Prescott and the rest of Dallas’ aerial attack. Jason Witten had his first 100-yard game since the final game of the 2013 season, finishing with eight catches for 134 yards and a score. The Cowboys will need that same kind of offensive balance for them to extend their winning streak against the Steelers.
The Cowboys are third in the NFL in total offense, averaging 411.5 yards per game this season. Providing the much-needed stability in that offensive unit is Prescott. He has now passed for 2,020 yards to go with 125 rushing yards this season. Prescott completed 21-of-27 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns in the win against the Browns. He will have his work cut out for him, however, against a Pittsburgh side that is 13th in the NFL in scoring defense, allowing just 21.4 points per game this campaign.
The Cowboys are 4-0 SU and ATS on the road this season.
Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)
Things are going from bad to worse for Pittsburgh as it crashed to a heart-breaking 21-14 loss to Baltimore on Sunday. The Steelers had no answer for former player Mike Wallace who nabbed four passes for 124 yards and a touchdown. It was a disappointing defeat for the Steelers who have now dropped three games in a row.
The Steelers will look to get their season back on track when they take on the red-hot Cowboys this coming Sunday. For the Steelers to return to the win column, they will need to start addressing their failings on the offensive end. They scored just 14 points against the Ravens on Sunday, posting a total of just 277 yards. They’re averaging just 15 points over their last three games.
The good news for Pittsburgh is that Ben Roethlisberger is starting to get his groove back. After going 8 for 18 for 54 yards and a pick through three quarters, Big Ben finished 23 for 45 for 264 yards against the Ravens. That’s quite impressive considering he’s just three weeks removed from undergoing surgery on his right knee. He will need to pick it up a notch against a Dallas side that has been playing some excellent defense of late. The most points the Cowboys have allowed this season is 23 points (Week 2 vs Washington).
The Steelers are 8-2 SU and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
