Betting on the Chicago Bulls (26-26)
The Chicago Bulls will head to their showdown with the Golden State Warriors with momentum on their side after escaping with a 112-107 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night. The Bulls’ starters came to the fore in that win, combining for 95 huge points against the Kings. Dwyane Wade led that offensive explosion, scoring 31 points including the game-winning jumper with 13 seconds left that helped stave off a furious Sacramento comeback.
With Jimmy Butler still questionable for Wednesday’s clash with a heel injury, the onus is on Wade to carry the scoring load for Chicago. The 35-year-old veteran has stepped up big time in Butler’s absence, totaling 50 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists in the games against Houston and Sacramento. Wade can’t do it all alone, though, and he needs his Chicago teammates to step up their play as well. That was the case in the win against the Kings with all five starters scoring in double-figures.
Playing an integral role the past two games for the Bulls has been Michael Carter-Williams. He followed up his highest scoring night of the season at Houston (23 points) with his second-highest at Sacramento (21). That’s quite a comeback for Carter-Williams who has already missed 31 games this season with knee, wrist and back ailments.
The Bulls are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games.
Betting on the Golden State Warriors (43-8)
Now that was a shock. The Golden State Warriors had their five-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with a wild 109-106 overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings. It was a disappointing defeat for the league-leading Warriors, who overcame a seven-point deficit late in the fourth quarter only to fall short against the Kings in the end.
The Warriors will look to return to winning ways when they lock horns with the Chicago Bulls later tonight. They will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well at home of late. The Warriors have won 22 of their 25 games at Oracle Arena this season. Golden State also hasn’t suffered back-to-back defeats in the regular season since April of 2015, an NBA-record streak of 137 games. In fact, the Warriors have responded to their first seven losses this season with wins by an average of 10.8 points.
One player who needs to step up against the Bulls is Kevin Durant. He struggled mightily in the loss to Sacramento, scoring just 10 points on 2-of-10 shooting from the field. That was totally unexpected from Durant who’s averaging 25.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this campaign. Durant averaged 31.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in two meetings with the Bulls last season.
The Warriors are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five home games.
