The return of NBA action post-All-Star break could not come any sooner, but at least we still have some fantastic college basketball games to place some stakes on this Wednesday night, particularly a couple of blockbusters from the crowded Atlantic Coast Conference.
First off, the No. 10 Duke Blue Devils visit the Syracuse Orange in a battle between two 1,000-win head coaches. Then shorty after, the No. 7 Louisville Cardinals and the No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels square off as they continue to vie for ACC supremacy.

Duke Blue Devils vs. Syracuse Orange (7:00 PM ET)
Line: Duke Blue Devils (-4) at Syracuse Orange (+4) – view all NCAAB lines
The Blue Devils are arguably the hottest team in college basketball right now, bringing a seven-game win streak to the Carrier Dome this Wednesday night. ACC Player of the Year candidate Luke Kennard had another terrific performance, scoring 23 points in the 99-94 win over Wake Forest on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Orange are trending in the opposite direction with three-consecutive defeats. They’ve hung around pretty well against their opposition during that span, though, losing by no less than six points in each of those contests.
Duke’s on quite a tear right now, and Syracuse’s 8-7 conference record has pretty much deflated the team’s campaign altogether. And even though the Orange have won two of their last five meetings against the Blue Devils (1-3-1 ATS), both of those victories were merely won by two points apiece.
Writer’s Prediction
Make that eight-straight wins for Duke (-4), 81-69.
Louisville Cardinals vs. North Carolina Tar Heels (9:00 PM ET)
Line: Louisville Cardinals (+6) at North Carolina Tar Heels (-6) – view all NCAAB lines
At three-straight victories, the Cardinals have a much better streak going than the Tar Heels do. Then again, Saturday’s 94-90 win over Virginia Tech marked the first time that the team had given up over 80 points to an opponent this season.
UNC, on the other hand, displayed that it can adapt to any game tempo with its 65-41 victory against Virginia. The Tar Heels, who are still ranked sixth in the nation at 86.9 points scored per game despite the low-scoring affair over the weekend, should be able to adjust back to their usual faster-paced brand of basketball against Louisville. Do note that under head coach Roy Williams, the ‘Heels have a 10-2 record in Chapel Hill versus top-10 ranked opponents.
Writer’s Prediction
North Carolina (-6) prevails with an 83-75 victory.
